Summer is a neurodivergent cultural misfit, mother to a trickster son and mystical daughter, and spouse of an old-school, third-generation fisherman. She writes about culture, gender, parenting, neurodivergence, and pursuing a creative life at the intersection of capitalism and Alaskan wilderness.

In addition to writing, Summer dances with the Off the Hook Honeys, writes and performs songs on her guitar, acts, and teaches Spanish to middle school students. As an activist, co-founder of Moon Lit Poets, and emcee/board member of Mudrooms, a storytelling event, she brings people together to share their stories.

She lives in Lingít Aaní, Juneau, Alaska, on the unceded lands of the Áak’w Kwáan Tlingit People.
